Tournament Rules

⚽ General Rules
1Games are played in an 8v8 format (7 field players + goalkeeper).
2Roster: Only LWRASC Paid Members. March 31st was the deadline to pay for membership.
3A team must field a minimum of 5 players or forfeit. 15-minute grace period before forfeit. Forfeit = 3 pts + 3 goals for the other team.
4Field Size: ½ regulation-sized soccer fields.
5Ball: FIFA regulation Size 5.
6Game Duration: Two 25-minute halves with a 10-minute halftime.
7Referees: One center referee per match.
8If weather does not allow play, the Board and team captains determine when to reschedule.
9A Win = 3 Points. A Draw = 1 Point. A Loss = 0 Points.
10Group Stage: Each team plays 3 games. Best 8 teams advance to Quarterfinals.
11Tiebreakers: 1st Goal Difference · 2nd Goals For · 3rd Goals Against · 4th Head-to-Head.
12Quarterfinals: 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, 4v5.
13Semifinals: Higher-placed teams play lower-placed advancing teams.
14If tied in the Final, the game goes straight to a 5-kick penalty shootout.
🎮 Gameplay Rules
1Substitutions: Unlimited substitutions allowed.
2No Slide Tackling: Strictly prohibited. Results in a direct free kick (or penalty kick if inside the area). Repeat offenses may result in a caution or send-off.
3Offside: No offsides rule in effect.
4Free Kicks & Restarts: All free kicks are indirect unless it is a penalty kick or direct free kick offense. Sideline restarts are throw-ins per FIFA rules.
5Players must be 7 yards from the spot of any free kick. On a PK, players must be outside the 10-yard box. Penalty kicks are taken 10 yards from the center of the goal line.
6No Punting Rule: Goalkeepers cannot punt, drop-kick, or throw the ball beyond the half-field line in the air. Infraction = indirect free kick.
7Goals may NOT be scored directly from kickoff. The kickoff touch may be played forward or backward.
8Corner Kicks: Per FIFA rules.
9Pass-Back Rule: Goalkeepers cannot handle a ball deliberately kicked to them by a teammate. Infraction = indirect free kick.
10If a team wins by more than 8 goals, only 8 goals count toward goal differential.
11Yellow Card: Player sits out the rest of the half. Two yellows = red (out for the game).
12Double Yellow / Red: Can play next game. Direct Red: Out for the game AND the next game.
13🙏 Good Sportsmanship! No excessive arguing with players, teammates, or referees. Absolutely NO fighting. Violations may result in expulsion from the World Cup and/or membership.
